Portland Steelers is a non-profit youth football and cheer organization that was started in 2012. We focus on providing for underprivileged inner-city youth. It runs solely from volunteers that put countless hours into helping these youth overcome adversity and strive to be GREAT.
Outside of doing what they love, they go to school and are required to keep their grades up along with participating in various fundraisers and community events. Families who participate in this organization come from many social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. They are doing their best to help their youth learn the importance of being a part of a team and our community.
Our mission is to keep youth off the streets and active through the game of football and cheerleading. Our goal is to teach them teamwork, leadership, character building, discipline, respect, and how to work with other youth in a positive way and how to succeed as contributing individuals on and off the field.
Portland Steelers exists to use football, cheerleading, dance and a respect for education to develop strong, smart, responsible, healthy young men and women. We give them experiences that build their appreciation for and understanding of leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
